Help us Support Project Linus

  Face behind the Linus Quilts

Sometimes you get lucky and things just happen to work out great - that's what happened when Charlene Currie walked into the shop. It seemed that an angel was sent just in time! Her offer to help coordinate the Linus quilts was very timely for the shop and so appreciated. Collecting the quilts is easy - distributing them takes more energy. Fortunately Charlene Currie has been assisting us with the Franklin/ Hampshire chapter of Project Linus since fall of 2011. Since volunteering, Charlene has assisted with Project Linus National administration tasks, helped to find local organizations that can utilize these blankets as well as spread the word to locate additional " blanketeers"
With 20 + years of sales and marketing experience in the natural product industry, Ms. Currie has always found time to volunteer. Her blend of sales with successful marketing campaigns for growing, entrepreneurial companies, has allowed her to work with creative, sustainable, responsible companies like Lightlife Foods and Australis Aquaculture.
Charlene's career has allowed her to travel and work throughout the USA but she always had time to try to make a difference in her own community with organizations such as American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Kringle Candle Chase for JEHH Memorial Fund, and the Greenfield Triathion. An avid crafter, in her spare time she enjoys knitting, sewing, photography, and trying new crafts. Joining the Project Linus team has allowed her to bring her passion for volunteering and crafting together with her marketing background to make a difference in her community.
Thanks Charlene!!!!

In 2011 there were over 150 quilts/blankets delivered to local children in need! Our supply is running low and we need to build up our stash. Dig into your stash and get creative!

Quilts are collected all year but our big push is in February. Our supply has dipped and we need to build it back up so that we can be ready to supply children in need. This past year over 100 quilts ( some were crocheted, knit and fleece) were delivered to children throughout the year. All were given to children locally which was a wonderful feeling.

During the month of February, for every quilt brought in, your name goes into a drawing for a $100.00 gift card. Dig into your stash and get started!

Thanks to all those who help us to provide for children in need.
