Linus Quilts - We are proud to be part of Project Linus. Project Linus is pleased to announce a partnership with Avlyn, designer and manufacturer of fine quality fabrics for the craft and quilt industry. Superbowl Kickoff— We are joining forces with Metaphor Yarns to get those Linus Quilts done. You can quilt, knit or crochet and have fun.
Annual Food Drive - During the month of February we will be collecting canned and boxed goods as well personal care items. These will go to the food bank in Turners Falls to be distributed to those who need it. The response was so great last year we are looking forward to another great response.
During the last week we will give 1% off for each item donated—up to 20 items!
For the Love of Cupcakes - Join us for a cupcake party on Saturday, February 6. This is a joint event with Metaphor Yarns. There will be lots of activities and fun for all. Cupcakes in all forms— knit, crochet, quilted , REAL! More details to follow.
The Linen Lady ( Diane ) will be here on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 1 - 4. She has many, many buttons—some vintage, and linens as well. Plan a new project or or bring a new one to find buttons for.

Batik Club - We are getting so many new batiks each month that we are starting a Batik Club. Receive 8 different batiks each month. Pick up your batik package each month. Collect to make a big project or use for smaller ones! $20.00 per month a savings of $2.00! Begins in January.
Elder Challenge - The Franklin County Home Care Corp is inviting all quilters and fabric artists to create a fabric wallhangng on the theme of “Celebrating Elders”: their independence, wisdom, warmth, experience, knowledge…….Celebrate a neighbor, friend, family member, maybe an ancestor you’ve never known. Celebrate the spirit of elders. Share what the theme means to you!
The quilts will be displayed in four locations in Franklin County and the North Quabbin area in late April. Viewers choice at each location will win $100.00. We will sweeten the pot and add a gift certificate! Entry forms are available at the shop. Sign up now!!
Gees Bend Quilts - We just received some kits that are from the Gees Bend women. The fabric is hand dyed and beautiful.
Landscape Studio NEW WORKSHOPS!
These workshops are set up in a 2 session format - Students enroll for both sessions. Session one meets for 2 days. Students return home and do the work. Session 2 meets for 2 days 8 weeks later.
Landscape Studio - A 4 day process oriented workshop Create your own original landscape. The Landscape Studio is an introduction to the landscape process which builds and hones your skills in a unique 2 session format.
Session I - Drawing for Real and Sewing for Real Creating a Drawing, Composition, Fabric Choice, Making a Template, Piecing Skills Session II - Thread Painting for Real and Quilting for Real Problem Solving, Thread Painting Skills, Quilting and Finishing Techniques
The workshop is split into 2 sessions which meet several weeks apart to allow students ample time to work on their landscape at home. Sessions meet Friday and Saturday from 10 - 5. Friday night group dinner. Students are responsible for their accomodations and meals. Maximum 10 students. $350.00

Closed Mondays - We are closed on Mondays, but open on Monday holidays. Check the calendar on the class page.
Retreat Weekend - Our retreat planning is underway for 2010! Our retreat is full! If you would like to go on a waiting list please call. The dates are February 19 - 21 with an extra option for Thursday night.

Parking - We have parking in the back of the building. This is also where our main entrance and exit are. if you are headed west on the Mohawk Trail, pass the building and take the first left.It takes you to the back.Coming from the west, it is the right before the building. Thank you for helping us be considerate of the business in the front.
HQ Home Quilter - Would you like to finish your own quilts? We offer a class on the HQ. After "graduation" you can sign-up for a "date" to finish your quilt. The HQ now has "groovy boards" to assist in your quilting! They use a stylus that follows a pattern board and creates a pattern easily. Among them include feathers! These are available along with the rental of the machine.

Horn Cabinets - Come and check out the catalog. There are some new models. We have several models on the floor. Comfortable chairs too!
Financing Packages - We are now able to offer financing packages. We offer a variety of options including no interest options. Call or stop by for more information.
Scissor Sharpening –A reminder that we offer scissor-sharpening services. Scissors may be brought in and Lenny will sharpen them. He only needs one or two days to return them. The cost is $5.00 a pair.
Machine Repair & Maintenance – Lenny offers machine repair and cleaning. Get that machine in great shape for your sewing projects. If you have questions about your machine give a call and set up an appointment.
