Tropical Quilting Bee: Stitchin' Outside of the Square

Community Members of the towns of Buckland, Shelburne, Rowe, Charlemont & Hawley are invited to join  us for a unique fabric opportunity. Workshop participants will each create a quilted one -of - a -kind batik memory wall hanging with their sewing machines.

Bambi Miller will guide attendees through a gamut of creative experiences that will give them confidence to break away from a pattern based quilting project, and design free form an individual creation taking on a tropical flair.

Artist/Teacher/Historian/Librarian, Bambi has successfully conducted over twenty - five "Frog Castle Creative Arts Workshops" In 204 , she was awarded a "Gold Star" by the Massachusetts Cultural Council in recognition of her various exemplary art programs. Bambi is excited about the possibilities that evolve through creative group endeavors.

This imaginative workshop is FREE thanks to the Local Cultural Councils in the Towns of Charlemont/Hawley. Rowe, Shelburne and Buckland. Participants need to bring their sewing machines, thread, batting, and  a small collection of batiks. Enrollment is limited. Please call Bambi @ 339-5333 to sign up.  If you do not live in these towns and would like to participate, you can call Bambil and put your name on a waiting list. There will be a $20.00 fee for participants not from the towns listed.

With you as a participant, it promises to be an exciting journey................

Nancy's Quilt!

Many of you know Nancy and have asked about her. She is unable to be at the shop on  a regular basis. Some of our customers made blocks and we have been trying to put together a time to give it to her. We were able to "lure" her to the Breakfast Club and she had a good time visiting. She loves her quilt and it is clear everyone loves her!!
Thanks to all who have asked about her, made a block and helped share a special time.

Visitor from Turkey

We had a special visit from Nilgun Sahin who lives in Turkey. She got a sneak peak at the quilts from Bigfork Bay. Even though she didn't speak English, she clearly understood the world of quilting and we had a great time!!

Bigfork Bay Cotton Company Came and we had fun!

We will carry their patterns, kits and thread kits. If we don't have it we can get it!
Stop by and check out the book of patterns.
